Things To Do in DFW - July 4th Weekend

Summer is finally here and we're looking forward to making the most of it as the metro opens back up. We're really looking forward to all the Fourth of July events especially, because who doesn't enjoy fireworks? We've compiled a list of some of our favorite events below to help you decide how to spend your holiday weekend.

Red, White and BOOM! | McKinney Festival July 3rd

Activities for the entire family. A full day of free hometown fun! The City of McKinney celebrates the Fourth of July at Red, White and BOOM! with free family activities, live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show. Red, White and BOOM! kicks off Independence Day with downtown events: a hometown parade and a classic car, truck and cycle show. Families can also explore the many dining and shopping options that downtown has to offer. Evening festivities resume at the McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch with music, food, kids’ activities, a concert and a fireworks display. First Friday | Lewisville | July 2nd from 6PM-9PM

This one may not be Fourth of July themed, but it kicks off the holiday weekend with fun. First Fridays is a collaboration of local businesses, pop-up artisans, and vendors who have all come together to offer a night of food, fun, shopping, and entertainment for all ages. Stroll around Old Town, visit local businesses, catch multiple live music acts at various locations, and enjoy a night on the town! Find out all the details on their Facebook event page here.


Rockin' the River Tubing and Music | Fort Worth | July 3rd from 2:15 PM to 9:30 PM

Rockin’ the River kicks off July 3rd with Jonathan Tyler headlining the all-day Music and Tubing Series. Each week, the gates will open at 1:00pm with five different bands playing back-to-back sets beginning around 2:15pm on the Coors Light Waterfront Stage. After the headlining band finishes at 8:15pm, the water party moves to the shore with the fifth and final band playing until 9:25pm on the after-party stage before a weekly fireworks display. All American 4th and Fireworks Show | Plano | July 4th, Open at 6:00PM and Fireworks at 9:30PM

Plano will hold the All American 4th and Fireworks Show at its normal location on Sunday, July 4. The Special Event Field at Oak Point Park. City officials say they have received permission from Collin College to have canned music, five to six food vendors and 20 market vendors onsite at the College. This year's event will be a reduced footprint from 2019 but it is an in-person event, city officials said. If allowed, the city will open the festival site at 6:00 p.m. Fireworks will be at 9:30 p.m. and will also be streamed by Plano TV and the city’s social media channels. 12th Annual Lights on the Lake | Sherman | July 2 from 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm

On Friday, July 2, 2021 the City of Sherman will hold our annual Independence Day Celebration! This is the 12th Annual LIGHTS ON THE LAKE at Pecan Grove Park West, so get ready to rock the night away with a FREE Rick Springfield concert! And stick around when the sun goes down for an incredible fireworks show, brought to you by Simmons Bank. Get there early and enjoy the food vendors or pack your own picnic!
